A san Francisco police officer shot a man suspected of crashing a stolen
car and attempting to carjack another after leading police on a chase that
started at San Francisco International Airport early Sunday, authorities said.
The suspect was shot in the upper torso but is expected to live, said
Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department, which
is handling the investigation. The officer was not injured.
The incident began about 7 a.m., when a police officer assigned to the
airport bureau responded to a call about a possible hit-and-run in the area of
North McDonnell Road and San Bruno Avenue, police said in a statement. It was
later determined that the vehicle involved was stolen.
