Hours after seven people were wounded,
two fatally, in a pair of shootings in San Bernardino, the chaos spilled into a
hospital where dozens of people became emotional after the death of a loved
one.
“They were upset after the coroner gave
them the news,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy
Bachman said.
The group – Bachman estimates there were
about 75 people – had gone to Loma Linda University Medical Center after a pair
of shootings before 2 a.m. at a nightclub and a nearby Arco gas station.
Authorities said the shootings appeared
to be related to a biker gang. Dozens of bikers swarmed Loma Linda after the
wounded were taken there, police said.
